With the correct tooling, our CNC Swiss machines were able to cut the extremely hard material into an intricate design which included precise flanges, fillets, grooves, and radii. The tools and cutting surface were cooled to prevent heat distortion, and the product was thoroughly finished using sanding, polishing, and buffing techniques for a smooth, blemish-free surface. The mallet shaft was completed within exceptionally tight tolerances of ±0.002 inches on the diameter and on all critical features.
